344 individuals trapped in "easy job, high salary" scam in Cambodia repatriated

Authorities received 344 Vietnamese citizens repatriated by Cambodia, most of whom were workers caught in "easy job, high salary" scams, including four wanted individuals.

On 24/3, the Border Guard, in coordination with Dong Nai authorities, received the citizens from Cambodian officials. Cambodian forces had discovered and arrested these individuals during a recent crime crackdown.

Following their reception, the Border Guard and police verified and categorized the individuals. Dong Nai Police stated that most were freelance workers who had traveled to Cambodia seeking jobs. They were subsequently lured into fraudulent operations, forced into labor, faced difficult living conditions, and expressed a desire to return home.

During screening, authorities identified four individuals wanted by provincial and city police. They completed procedures to hand them over to relevant local authorities for processing.

In recent times, authorities have consistently received Vietnamese citizens repatriated by Cambodia. Most of these individuals had illegally crossed the border and worked at fraudulent establishments.
