Earlier, in early April, the Management Board submitted a report proposing the investment policy for the Tan Hien bridge. This bridge will connect Tan Trieu ward with Thuong Tan commune in Ho Chi Minh City. The structure lies between Bach Dang 2 bridge and Thu Bien bridge, and it will feature 6 lanes, including four for auto traffic and two for rudimentary vehicles, with a width of 33,5 m. The bridge section will be approximately 560 m long, with an additional 580 m for access roads.
Last February, the government designated the People's Committee of Dong Nai as the main authority to implement the project. This designation is in accordance with the Public Investment Law for projects spanning two localities.
Beyond the Tan Hien bridge, Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City broke ground on the Cat Lai, Long Hung, and Phu My 2 bridges earlier this year. In the near future, the two localities plan to continue building the Tan An, Hieu Liem 2, Thanh Hoi 2, and Xom La bridges, which will connect Dong Nai with the former Binh Duong area.
Currently, Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City are connected by several structures: Thu Bien bridge, Bach Dang 2 bridge, Dong Nai bridge (on National Highway 1), Long Thanh bridge (on the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway), and Nhon Trach bridge (on Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3). The Phuoc Khanh bridge, part of the Ben Luc – Long Thanh expressway, is expected to be completed next June.
