On the afternoon of 15/12, a 78-year-old man, residing in Thanh Xuan ward, left his home around 15h30 for exercise but did not return by evening. His family conducted a search without success and reported him missing to the police at 20h15.
Thanh Xuan ward police dispatched officers to coordinate with the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi Police. They traced images from the AI camera system, following the direction of travel provided by the family.
The images revealed the man walking along Nguyen Tuan street, heading towards Thanh Xuan park. His information and identifying characteristics were shared to seek community assistance.
Around 3h on 16/12, a resident found the elderly man showing signs of fainting in the Dich Vong area and helped him return home safely.

Previously, on the morning of 13/12, the Hanoi Traffic Control Center began operating, managing over 1,800 AI cameras installed on city streets. According to Hanoi Police, the camera system is strategically placed at approximately 195 intersections and 25 key roads and bridges, capable of detecting up to 28 types of traffic safety and order violations.
Beyond monitoring and addressing violations, AI cameras also serve to count vehicle traffic, issue congestion warnings, and aid in detecting vehicles under surveillance. The collected data is centrally stored for a maximum of 75 days.
