Ramp N4 is approximately 468 m long and 9 m wide, featuring two lanes with a design speed of 50 km/h. Once operational, vehicles from Dong Van Cong Street can turn right onto Mai Chi Tho Boulevard, heading towards the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway or Vo Nguyen Giap Street (Hanoi Highway).
In May, ramp N3, of similar scale, opened in the opposite direction, connecting Mai Chi Tho to Dong Van Cong. The opening of ramp N4 will complete the two direct connections between these main roads, reducing congestion at the intersection and facilitating vehicle movement to and from Cat Lai Port.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic Projects (the investor), ramps N3 and N4 are part of package number 10, a main construction package of the An Phu Interchange project, with a total value of approximately 236 billion VND. Specifically, the construction cost for ramp N4 is nearly 112 billion VND, and N3 is about 114 billion VND.
After ramp N4 opens, the main components at the Mai Chi Tho - Dong Van Cong intersection will be largely complete. Construction will then focus on the area connecting Mai Chi Tho with the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway and Luong Dinh Cua Street.
Currently, a bridge ramp for vehicles from Mai Chi Tho, heading towards Vo Nguyen Giap, to turn left onto the expressway is under construction. It is expected to open in October.

The remaining component, connecting Luong Dinh Cua Street directly to the expressway, allowing vehicles to bypass the interchange, is projected for completion in Q2/2027. This section has faced delays for several years due to land clearance issues involving approximately 2,2 hectares on the Luong Dinh Cua Street side, causing multiple adjustments to the project's overall timeline.
The An Phu Interchange project began construction in late 2022, with a total investment exceeding 3,400 billion VND. The structure is designed with three levels, including an underpass and an overpass system connecting the main roads in the area. The project was initially slated for completion in late 2025, then postponed to Q3/2026, and is now set for Q3/2027.

To date, completed components include the overpass for vehicles turning right from the expressway onto Mai Chi Tho, the underpass connecting Mai Chi Tho to the expressway, ramp N3, Ba Dat Bridge, and Giong Ong To Bridge.
Upon its full completion, the entire interchange is expected to enhance connectivity between Ho Chi Minh City's eastern gateway and the expressway leading to Long Thanh Airport and Cat Lai Port. It will also alleviate traffic congestion in one of the city's busiest areas.
