Ca Mau builds a three-rice-grain park costing over 21 billion VND

The 1,5 hectare park in Vinh Loi commune started construction on 29/8, featuring an 18 m tall three-rice-grain symbol, with a total cost exceeding 21,4 billion VND, to be completed in 2027.

The Ca Mau Provincial Project Management Board of Construction is the investor for this project, spanning approximately 1,5 hectares. The park will include internal roads, a water supply and drainage system, lighting, flower beds, trees, public restrooms, and auxiliary facilities.

The park's central feature is an 18 m tall cluster of three rice grain symbols, arranged vertically. These three grains represent the milky, ripe yellow, and sprouting stages, symbolizing the continuity, rebirth, and vitality of wet rice civilization. The interconnected, arc-shaped blocks evoke the image of storks flying over rice fields.

According to the Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee (PPC), the park will offer residents additional space for recreation, sports, and community activities. It will also increase green areas and improve the local landscape.

The project is also expected to become a focal point for developing services and ecotourism, while honoring the value of rice in local life, culture, and agricultural history.

In late April, Ca Mau province announced the establishment of a Wet Rice Museum and an architectural plan for a symbol honoring wet rice. According to Ngo Vu Thang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, these projects aim to preserve memories, conserve the cultural value of wet rice, and pass it on to future generations.
