On 30/9, Binh Long ward police, in coordination with military and search and rescue forces in Dong Nai province, announced the discovery of a car that had been swept away by floodwaters 8 days prior. The five-seater car was found at the bottom of Xa Cat Lake, submerged 7 meters deep, approximately 30 meters from the shore, and about 300 meters from where it was initially carried away by the currents. This area was close to where authorities had been searching for many days.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of 22/9, when Tran Thi Bich Lien, 46 years old, was driving her car on Su Van Hanh street, Xa Cam neighborhood, heading from Tan Khai towards An Loc. During heavy rain, upon reaching the So Nhi dam area, strong currents from upstream swept her car into Xa Cat Lake.

Several residents attempted to rescue the victim but were unsuccessful. Authorities mobilized hundreds of officers, soldiers, civil defense personnel, and locals for an extensive search, utilizing flycams for assistance. However, persistent heavy rain and the expansive lake surface made search efforts difficult. By 24/9, the female driver's body was found.

Dong Nai province has experienced continuous heavy rainfall in recent days, complicating rescue and search operations. Dong Nai police advise residents to increase their flood prevention awareness during the rainy season, urging them not to drive through deeply flooded areas, over submerged bridges, or where strong currents are present.
