According to the communique from the first plenum of the 14th Party Central Committee, the 14th Central Committee elected the Politburo, General Secretary, Secretariat, Central Inspection Committee, and the Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee at this morning's session.

A regulation on the list of positions, groups of positions, and leadership roles within the political system, issued in 9/2025, defines the key leadership positions of the Party and State as: General Secretary, President, Prime Minister, National Assembly Chairman, and Permanent Member of the Secretariat. Compared to the 2022 regulation, the position of Permanent Member of the Secretariat was elevated from the senior leadership group to key leadership.

According to the list of the 14th Central Committee announced yesterday, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President Luong Cuong are not members of the new Central Committee.
