The Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee recently approved the Ring Road 1 project, a significant infrastructure development funded by the local budget. This nearly 6 km long route, with a total investment exceeding 2,360 billion dong, aims to establish a crucial circular traffic artery around the central urban area of Ca Mau City. It will enhance connectivity between major roads and alleviate pressure on the existing traffic network.
The project involves the construction of over 5,5 km of new road and the upgrade and widening of 0,43 km of existing sections, totaling approximately 5,94 km. The road will feature a cross-section ranging from 30-45 m, depending on the segment, comprising a carriageway, median, and sidewalks. Key infrastructure along the route includes three new bridges over the Quan Lo - Phung Hiep, Tac Thu, and Rach Rap canals, along with a synchronized system of feeder roads, drainage, and technical infrastructure.
The route traverses three wards: Tan Thanh, Tan Xuyen, and Ly Van Lam. It begins at the Tran Hung Dao - 3 Thang 2 intersection and concludes at the junction of Nguyen Tat Thanh (National Route 1) and Nguyen Dinh Chieu, connecting several important traffic axes in the city's central area.
