Around 6:40 p.m., Nguyen Ngoc Man, a 55-year-old resident of Binh Dinh province, was driving a tractor-trailer with a Gia Lai license plate on the National Highway 1 bypass, heading south to north. As he reached the section passing through Song Tri ward (formerly part of Ky Anh town), the vehicle lost control, veered off the road, and caught fire.

During the accident, driver Man was trapped inside the cabin and died.

The Vung Ang Fire and Rescue Police Team (Ha Tinh Provincial Police) dispatched a fire truck and dozens of officers to the scene, using water cannons to extinguish the blaze. After about half an hour, the fire was brought under control, but the entire vehicle was destroyed.

After 9 p.m., authorities recovered the driver's body and arranged for a rescue vehicle to tow the damaged tractor-trailer.

The National Highway 1 bypass section in Song Tri ward is approximately 20 meters wide. This area lacks streetlights, and both sides feature embankments about 3 meters deep. There was no rain at the time of the accident.
