The powerful impact deformed the motorcycle. The container truck continued for a short distance before overturning onto the road guardrail. Its cabin was torn apart and heavily damaged. Debris was scattered around the scene, and wood chips spilled onto the road.
Witnessing the accident, many local residents shouted warnings to passersby and called for rescue assistance. However, the two motorcyclists died on the spot. La Lan Cuoi was trapped under the front part of the overturned container truck.
The container truck driver sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Phu Yen General Hospital, 69 km from the scene, but he did not survive.
Phu Mo communal police deployed officers to secure the scene. They coordinated with relevant units to use a crane to upright the container truck.
According to authorities, the initial cause of the accident was the container truck driver encroaching on the motorcycle lane.
