From 28/3 to 27/5, the Hanoi Department of Construction prohibits road vehicles from circulating on Long Bien Bridge in both directions to facilitate a repair project. During rush hour, commuters and students must reroute to Chuong Duong Bridge, located about one kilometer from Long Bien Bridge.

Residents from small alleys sought ways to enter the main road to join the flow of people crossing the bridge. Some, seeing the congestion, chose to climb onto sidewalks and dike embankments. |
Traffic volume on Chuong Duong Bridge increased significantly from 6:30, leading to congestion. Motorcyclists even encroached on lanes reserved for cars.
Local traffic police reported that since yesterday, traffic volume has been much higher compared to before the Long Bien Bridge closure. They anticipate that it will take at least 10 days for congestion to ease, as residents adjust their travel times.
