Around 5h, flames erupted at the confectionery factory in Duc Khe hamlet, Huong Son commune, sending black smoke billowing over the residential area. Residents and on-site firefighters tried to put out the fire and move assets, but the blaze spread quickly due to numerous flammable materials inside.

Approximately 20 minutes later, the Fire, Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police arrived, mobilizing 12 fire engines and over 50 officers and soldiers. When they reached the scene, the fire had already engulfed the entire factory, causing steel frame components and corrugated iron roofs to collapse.
Authorities sprayed water from multiple directions to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby residential areas. By approximately 6h40, firefighters had largely contained the blaze.

The fire destroyed many finished confectionery products, raw materials, and machinery. Fortunately, no human casualties were reported. Authorities are currently investigating the cause.
Just one day before, Hanoi experienced a major fire at a 6,000 m2 timber warehouse in Thinh Liet ward, which resulted in one fatality. It took authorities approximately 7 hours to extinguish that blaze.
