Emergency train stop to save stroke passenger

A 71-year-old passenger showing signs of a stroke on the route from Bien Hoa to Long Khanh, Dong Nai, prompted the SE2 train crew to make an emergency stop at Long Khanh station for medical aid.

At 9:40 PM on 26/7, as the SE2 train traveled northbound from Bien Hoa station towards Long Khanh in Dong Nai province, steward Dinh Xuan Hieu, responsible for carriage 11, noticed passenger Tran Van Sy, 71, from Ninh Binh, exhibiting signs of declining health. He immediately raised an emergency alert to Train Chief Nguyen Truong Tho.

The train chief and steward Nguyen Huong Lien observed that passenger Sy was unconscious, had a weak pulse, and showed signs of a stroke. They immediately activated the emergency rescue protocol. The crew administered on-site first aid while also broadcasting a call for assistance from any passengers with medical expertise.

The SE2 train crew also contacted the Dispatch Center to request permission for an unscheduled emergency stop at Long Khanh station.

By 9:50 PM, the SE2 train arrived at Long Khanh station. Passenger Tran Van Sy and his two relatives traveling with him were quickly transported to a hospital for emergency treatment. His family later confirmed that Mr. Sy's health had stabilized.

The station facilitated a ticket refund and assisted the family with their luggage. Passenger Sy's family subsequently purchased new train tickets to continue their journey back to Ninh Binh.
