Bus carrying 27 people crashes into cliff on Khanh Le Pass

A bus carrying 25 passengers and two drivers collided with a cliff face and overturned on Khanh Le Pass, injuring 5 people, on the morning of 27/7.

Around 6 a.m., a bus with a Da Nang license plate was traveling on National Highway 27C, heading from Nha Trang to Da Lat. As it approached a bend in Nam Khanh Vinh commune, the bus lost control, veered into a drainage ditch, and overturned, coming to rest against the cliff.

The impact deformed the bus's right side and shattered many windows. Passengers panicked, and 5 people sustained injuries to their hands and feet. They were helped out of the vehicle to await emergency care.

The Khanh Hoa 115 Emergency Center activated an inter-hospital red alert, mobilizing 4 ambulances from the center and local units. Emergency responders arrived at the scene in over 10 minutes.

Medical staff triaged and administered first aid to the victims before transferring them to Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital for treatment. Traffic Police Team No. 1 in the Khanh Vinh area regulated traffic to ensure smooth flow on the route.

Khanh Le Pass is approximately 33 km long and forms part of National Highway 27C, a 121 km route. It serves as a vital connection between Nha Trang and Da Lat and is frequently used by tourist vehicles.

Over 5 days ago, a container truck also overturned on the pass, trapping its driver in the cabin. Police used specialized equipment to extricate the victim.
