The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting announced that the northern region will be mostly dry tonight and tomorrow, with scattered showers and thunderstorms only in Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Lao Cai, and Son La. However, starting from the night of 27/7, a low-pressure trough with a northwest-southeast axis will form and move across the Northern Delta (Bac Bo), bringing widespread thunderstorms that will persist until 29/7.
The heaviest rainfall is expected in the provinces of Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, and Son La, with common rainfall amounts ranging from 50-120 mm, and localized areas potentially receiving over 250 mm.

After 29/7, the intensity of rain in the northern region is expected to decrease. However, from 29/7 to 2/8, this area will still experience frequent showers and thunderstorms. Due to prolonged rain, meteorological agencies warn of a high to very high risk of flash floods and landslides in the northern midland and mountainous areas.
US-based Accuweather forecasts Hanoi's temperatures in the coming days to be between 25-33 degrees Celsius. High-altitude locations above 1,500 m, such as Sa Pa (Lao Cai), will see temperatures of 17-23 degrees Celsius.
In the central region, from Thanh Hoa to Hue City, the low-pressure trough will also bring scattered showers and thunderstorms starting from the night of 27/7. From now until the end of the month, this area will frequently experience rain, with localized heavy downpours and strong thunderstorms.
The South Central Coast will also see rain in many areas in the coming days, gradually decreasing towards early August.
The Central Highlands and Southern region will continue to be affected by strong southwest monsoon activity, leading to frequent afternoon and evening rains from now until the end of July. Daily rainfall amounts will commonly be 20-50 mm, with localized areas exceeding 100 mm.
During the day, the Central Highlands and Southern region will experience intermittent sunny periods. Highest temperatures are commonly 28-31 degrees Celsius in the Central Highlands and 30-33 degrees Celsius in the Southern region. Towards early August, the southwest monsoon is expected to weaken, and rainfall will gradually decrease.
