Final 11 km stretch of Da Nang expressway nears opening

The final 11 km section of the North-South Expressway through Da Nang, with an investment of over 2,100 billion VND, is nearing completion and is set to open on 19/8.

The 11.5 km Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway, the final link connecting the La Son - Hoa Lien Expressway and the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway, is substantially complete.

The photo shows the intersection at Hai Van Ward. This intersection includes completed access roads to the High-Tech Park and Lien Chieu Port.

The project has a total investment of over 2,100 billion VND, of which more than 951 billion VND was allocated for site clearance. Construction began in 9/2023.

The intersection with the High-Tech Park has received significant investment to facilitate traffic flow. To ensure the project opens on schedule on 19/8, the contractor has maximized manpower and equipment, implementing 24/7 construction shifts.

On 16/8, despite the expressway not being officially open, several vehicles were observed using it.

The Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway is designed with four lanes and a speed limit of 60-80 km/h. It features a median strip, anti-glare netting, and corrugated guardrails.

According to the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board (the project investor), the main road surface is almost entirely paved.

The Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway is also a rare section of the North-South Expressway that had to be constructed concurrently with the operation of the Nam Hai Van bypass.

Workers are completing the installation of signage along some sections.

Workers are finalizing the directional signs at the intersection to ensure consistency throughout the entire route.

The expressway has only a few curves, allowing vehicles to travel at maximum speed.

Several unfinished sections restrict traffic to one direction.

Despite its short length of 11.5 km, this section has three exits: the High-Tech Park interchange, the Nguyen Tat Thanh Road interchange connecting to the Central Information Technology Park, and the Hoang Van Thai Road interchange.

The photo shows the Hoang Van Thai Road interchange under construction, located on the Ba Na - Suoi Mo route. This interchange will provide access from the expressway to the Ba Na Hills Tourist Area.

The endpoint of the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan project, connecting to the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway (in the new Hoa Vang commune), is also complete.

The Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway is part of the eastern North-South Expressway, passing through Ba Na commune, Hoa Khanh ward, and Lien Chieu ward in Da Nang. This vital route connects existing expressways from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai.
