Firefighters brought the blaze under control after about 20 minutes. The incident caused no human casualties but damaged a horse mascot and several surrounding decorative elements, with property losses estimated at tens of millions of Vietnamese dong.
The initial cause was an electrical short circuit. Authorities are continuing their investigation to clarify the details.
The Tet decoration area at 9 Nang Tien Park was completed about two weeks prior, featuring ochna flowers, peach blossoms, and two horse mascots.
