Ho Chi Minh City launched fireworks at 5 high-altitude locations and 11 low-altitude locations across various areas to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the city being named after President Ho Chi Minh. The 15-minute fireworks display was funded by private contributions.

From 19h30, a large crowd gathered in front of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee headquarters to enjoy a 3D mapping performance. Teams from France and Vietnam presented a show with three themes: Half a Century of Pride - Saigon's Beat, Echoes of Dai Viet, and The Era of Ascent.
