The Prime Minister recently issued a plan for organizing Vietnam Culture Day during the 2026-2030 period. This initiative aims to firmly establish culture as a spiritual foundation, a crucial internal resource, a powerful driving force, a pillar, and a regulating system for the nation's rapid and sustainable development.
To achieve this, Vietnam will launch a robust global communication campaign titled "Impressive Vietnam" across digital platforms and social media. The effort will also focus on developing a network of cultural ambassadors and supporting overseas Vietnamese communities in introducing the national cultural identity to the world. Additionally, projects for translating and publishing Vietnamese literature and art books into foreign languages will be promoted to bring the essence of Vietnamese culture to global art platforms.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is tasked with developing a diverse system of communication products for Vietnam Culture Day. These products, including a brand identity kit, multi-platform digital content, radio programs, television broadcasts, newspaper articles, and visual promotional materials, will be tailored to suit the specific conditions of each region.
The Ministry needs to effectively leverage social media and harness the influence of celebrities and respected community figures. This approach aims to widely disseminate national historical and cultural values, national value systems, cultural value systems, family values, and the standards of the Vietnamese people in the new era.

To broaden access and narrow the cultural enjoyment gap among people in different regions and localities, the Prime Minister called for the application of modern technology in museums, libraries, theaters, exhibition centers, and cultural centers.
Annually, on Vietnam Culture Day (24/11), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with local authorities, will organize a series of large-scale cultural, artistic, and sports events. The Prime Minister emphasized that these events should harmoniously combine traditional and contemporary elements, encouraging the use of modern performance technology to create widespread appeal and attract a large number of artists, artisans, and the public.
The State will commission works, create favorable conditions, and provide space for intellectuals, writers, artists, and artisans to maximize their creative potential. External cultural events will be organized at Vietnamese cultural centers abroad. Experiential tourism routes at heritage sites, craft villages, and indigenous communities will be developed, alongside the restoration of traditional festivals.
Reading culture will be developed with the reader at its center. Models of open reading spaces, libraries, creative learning, and smart learning will be expanded and integrated with community activities. The "all people read books" movement needs to be intensified to foster sustainable reading habits and skills among the populace.
To become an attractive global destination for tourism and culture, Vietnam will host major international art events. Annually, "Vietnam Culture Week" will be organized in countries that are comprehensive strategic partners, strategic partners, comprehensive partners, or nations with large Vietnamese communities.
Handicraft products embodying Vietnamese cultural characteristics will be used as diplomatic gifts and display items at international events.
The National Culture Conference will be held once every 5 years to evaluate the Party's guidelines, resolutions, directives, and conclusions on culture. It will also assess the outcomes of building Vietnamese culture and people in each period, and propose solutions for cultural development to meet the demands of the new era. Alongside organizing forums and scientific workshops to clarify the role, value, and effectiveness of Vietnam Culture Day, the Prime Minister noted the need to intensify in-depth research on the value system and standards of the Vietnamese people.
In 1/2026, the Politburo agreed to designate 24/11 as Vietnam Culture Day, with the policy that it would be a paid public holiday for workers. Three months later, the National Assembly passed a resolution, officially establishing 24/11 as Vietnam Culture Day, entitling workers to a paid day off.
