Hanoi's 100-year master plan, currently on display at the Hanoi Museum, outlines a strategy for 2021-2030 and beyond 2030, envisioning a total of 198 industrial clusters spanning 7,296 hectares. The plan includes maintaining the scale of 73 existing industrial clusters, expanding and re-planning 71 clusters, and developing 54 new potential industrial clusters.
The city will continue to relocate polluting industries from its central areas, replacing them with urban social infrastructure projects. Industrial clusters within the boundaries of the Olympic sports urban project will be converted, and priority will be given to developing specialized industrial clusters linked to traditional craft villages.

Relocated industrial parks, alongside those with upgraded infrastructure, expanded facilities, and new developments, will form industrial clusters linked to growth poles. Specifically, the northern pole, centered in Soc Son and Dong Anh, is designated as an international industrial hub connected with logistics. This area currently hosts industrial parks such as Noi Bai, Soc Son, Dong Anh, Quang Minh, and Thang Long. Plans include establishing the new Tien Thang industrial park and a reserve area for industrial development spanning hundreds of hectares.
The northwest pole is associated with the new Ba Vi industrial park, projected to cover 310 hectares.
The eastern pole is designated for supporting industries linked to exports. In addition to the operational Sai Dong industrial park, a new Phu Dong industrial park, spanning 370 hectares, is planned.
The southern pole is linked to the southern supporting industrial region, with plans for new industrial parks including Bac Phu Xuyen, Phung Hiep II, the southern Hanoi support zone, and Xuan Duong.
The western pole is planned as an industrial region for technology research and transfer and new product testing. Besides the Hoa Lac High-Tech industrial park, Thach That - Quoc Oai, and Phu Nghia, the city plans to establish the new Phu Nghia II industrial park, covering 389 hectares.
The exhibition opened on 29/6 and, after two weeks, has attracted tens of thousands of visitors, making it one of the most popular events at the Hanoi Museum in recent years. The exhibition will run until 29/8, open daily from 9h to 17h, except monday.
The master plan applies to the entire administrative area of the capital, spanning 3,359 km2. The population is projected to reach 15 million by 2035 and a maximum of 19 million by 2065.
