Under the plan, vehicles traveling from Can Tho to Ca Mau will enter the expressway at the connecting point of the Can Tho - Hau Giang section. They will then exit the route at intersection IC12, following road signs. Conversely, vehicles from Ca Mau or An Giang will enter the expressway at IC12. Those from Ca Mau should turn right onto branch 12.2.1, while those from An Giang should turn left to merge onto the route.
The route spans more than 73 km and is part of the Eastern North-South expressway. Previously, the road opened to traffic in mid-January but was then temporarily closed. This closure allowed for the completion of drainage ditches, slopes, and road shoulders, ensuring safety.
Upon opening, the route connects with the Can Tho - Hau Giang section. This connection contributes to the completion of the expressway axis to the far South, reducing congestion on national route 1 and shortening travel times in the region.
