Nhan Dan newspaper wins Asia Digital Media Awards 2026

Nhan Dan newspaper honored by the World Association of News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) in the best marketing campaign and most innovative digital product categories.

On 28/4, in Manila, Philippines, Nhan Dan newspaper received two awards at the Asia Digital Media Awards, presented by WAN-IFRA. The newspaper was recognized in the Best Marketing Campaign for a News Brand category for its artistic-political program "To Quoc Trong Tim" (Homeland in the Heart), and in the Most Innovative Digital Product category for the work "Hanh Trinh Doc Lap" (Journey to Independence).

The awards were presented during the Asia Digital Media Conference, which brought together leading media organizations from across the continent and worldwide. Nhan Dan newspaper was one of the few media outlets to secure two or more awards, joining international peers such as Singapore Press Holding, Seoul Economic Daily, Channel News Asia, and United Daily News Group.

Beyond professional expertise and technological integration, the international jury, composed of respected journalists, highly praised the creativity and widespread impact of the winning works.

Before its WAN-IFRA recognition, the national concert "To Quoc Trong Tim" had already garnered numerous domestic accolades, including awards from the Vietnam Musicians' Association, the Mai Vang Awards, and most recently, the Cong Hien Awards, as voted by journalists.

The "To Quoc Trong Tim" program drew 50,000 spectators to My Dinh stadium in Hanoi. Key moments included the entire stadium singing the national anthem in unison and a parade by Vietnam People's Army soldiers. The accompanying musical film "To Quoc Trong Tim" later captivated audiences in cinemas and through UniTour events at universities, successfully spreading positive energy and patriotism among young viewers.

Meanwhile, "Hanh Trinh Doc Lap", a digital spin-off from the supplement commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam's National Day, earned acclaim for integrating political discourse with advanced technologies such as: AR (augmented reality), VR (virtual reality), and interactive features. This innovative digital-age storytelling approach aims to educate and engage young readers with the nation's pivotal historical events.

Following their recognition at the Digital Media Award Asia, "To Quoc Trong Tim" and "Hanh Trinh Doc Lap" have also advanced to the finals of WAN-IFRA's global journalism awards, scheduled to be held in Marseille, France, in 6/2026.

WAN-IFRA, the World Association of News Publishers, stands as one of the largest global journalism organizations. It plays a key role in shaping industry trends and publishes influential reports guiding the media sector towards sustainable models. Established in 1948, WAN-IFRA's extensive network now encompasses 3,000 news and technology publishing organizations, alongside 60 member press associations across 120 countries and territories.
