Around 5:30 p.m., heavy rain led to severe flooding across numerous streets in the Thao Dien area of An Khanh ward. Some sections were nearly chest-deep, causing vehicles to stall and forcing residents to push their bikes home.

Residents pushed their vehicles onto the sidewalk of Quoc Huong street to avoid the deepest flooded sections.

A group of University of Culture students waded through the water on their way home. Nguyen Trong Phuc (left) said, "As soon as we finished class, we saw the streets were deeply flooded",.

Nearby, Xuan Thuy street was also inundated with water. Many vehicles stalled, requiring commuters to push them through the flooded section.

About 5 km away, heavy rain also caused flooding up to half a motorbike wheel on Dinh Bo Linh street, near the old Mien Dong bus station.

Nam Hoa and Xa lo Ha Noi streets in Phuoc Long ward were flooded over 10 cm deep. Vehicles had to turn on their lights and move slowly.
