On 27/3, the new kitchen facility at Aro village preschool point, part of Lang Preschool in Tay Giang border commune, was officially inaugurated and is now in use.
With an area of nearly 30 square meters, the kitchen features dedicated areas for food preparation, cooking, and storage, and is fully equipped with cooking utensils. The facility currently serves lunch for nearly 40 students and teachers stationed in the village.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu Thao, Principal of Lang Preschool, stated that Aro school point was built in 2014 but lacked a kitchen. For over 10 years, students had to walk home for lunch. Many who lived far away would then miss their afternoon classes. This led to unstable attendance, directly affecting children's health and learning.
"A well-equipped kitchen has been a long-cherished wish for teachers and students. The facility helps the school ensure hot, nutritious meals. Parents are also reassured, leading to more consistent school attendance," Ms. Thao shared.
The project in Aro village, with a total sponsored cost of over 230 million VND, was implemented by Hope Foundation with support from Roche Pharma Vietnam Co., Ltd. through funds from the "Walking for Children" program.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Thao, Director of Drug Registration and Policy Department, Roche Pharma Vietnam, expressed, "We believe that investing in the future generation is the foundation of sustainable development. We hope the new kitchen will bring safe, delicious lunches, helping to nurture the dreams of students here."
Besides building the physical facilities, the project also funded nutritious meals for one year for students at the school point. Additionally, it supported the renovation of classrooms and enclosed sanitation facilities.

Previously, two semi-boarding kitchens were also handed over by Hope Foundation to two school points in Hung Son commune (also part of Da Nang City after merger). These activities are part of the "School Nutrition" project, under the "School Light" program operated by Hope Foundation, aiming to improve educational conditions and enhance the physical health of highland students.
