Around 5:10 p.m., a significant volume of soil and rocks cascaded from the mountainside slope onto a section of the road in the middle of Dai Ninh Pass, located in Phan Son commune. Fortunately, no vehicles were passing at that moment, preventing any casualties.

A representative from Road Traffic Police Team No. 3 stated that vehicles traveling on the Phan Thiet - Da Lat route and in the opposite direction could still navigate the landslide area, provided they proceeded slowly.

"I was ascending the pass when I saw the large mass of soil obstructing the road from a distance," said Tran Mai Long, an oto driver traveling from Phan Thiet to Da Lat. "I had to slow down and observe carefully before daring to pass."

Traffic police subsequently arrived at the scene to regulate traffic and collaborated with local functional units to address the incident.

Drivers traversing this area tonight are advised to reduce their speed, maintain vigilance, and adhere to instructions from authorities to ensure safety.

National route 28B spans approximately 68 km, linking national route 1 in the Luong Son area with national route 20 in Duc Trong. This route forms a crucial transport artery from Phan Thiet and Mui Ne to Da Lat. The road is currently undergoing renovation and expansion, with an estimated total investment of nearly 1,400 ty dong.

The section of Dai Ninh Pass, which stretches over 10 km, has recently experienced frequent landslides. On the morning of 21/9, soil and rocks also spilled onto a curve from the mountainside, impacting traffic after several days of rainfall.
