Many injured on Dong Nai expressway while delivering aid to central Vietnam

A truck carrying essential goods to central Vietnam was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on the Phan Thiet – Dau Giay expressway on the afternoon of 21/11, injuring many, with one victim in critical condition.

Around 3 p.m., a truck with a Ho Chi Minh City license plate, transporting aid goods northbound, collided with a car traveling in the same direction in Hang Gon commune and overturned.

As the driver awaited rescue, three vehicles behind—a container truck, a 16-seat van, and a 5-seat passenger car—were unable to react in time, causing a chain collision. Passengers in the 16-seat van panicked and screamed.

The accident resulted in multiple injuries. One passenger in the van sustained severe injuries and was transported to Ho Chi Minh City for treatment by the Tam Duc 115 emergency team (formerly Binh Thuan).

Traffic police arrived to manage traffic and investigate the cause. Other drivers assisted in transferring the aid goods to another vehicle to continue their journey. By 5 p.m., the scene was cleared, and the road was open.

The Phan Thiet – Dau Giay expressway is 99 km long, with an investment of over 12,500 billion VND, connecting Dong Nai with Lam Dong. Recently, the route has seen frequent accidents, primarily due to drivers failing to maintain safe distances.
