On 9/4, a representative from the management unit stated that nearly 40 cases of motorbikes entering the expressway have been detected since february, with 20 incidents occurring in march alone. Motorbikes frequently enter by mistake or intentionally at several key points: the Cha Va interchange on the My Thuan - Can Tho expressway; Than Cuu Nghia on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong access road; and the Cai Be, Cai Lay interchanges on the Trung Luong - My Thuan section.

Beyond instances of riders not observing road signs, many individuals intentionally bypass checkpoints. Some even do so while intoxicated, resisting and accelerating away when asked to stop, often leading to accidents.
The route's management unit is coordinating with Traffic Police Team No. 7 under the Traffic Police Department to enhance patrols and enforce violations.

According to Decree 168/2024, motorbikes entering expressways face fines ranging from 4-6 million VND. Offenders may also incur a driver's license suspension for 3-5 months, license point deductions, and vehicle impoundment. If an accident is caused, the fine increases to 10-14 million VND, with more severe cases potentially leading to criminal prosecution.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway spans over 120 km, serving as a vital transport artery connecting the Mekong Delta. It significantly reduces travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to My Thuan to about 1 hour 45 minutes, a considerable improvement from the over 3 hours required when using National Highway 1.
