On the afternoon of 3/3, the Vietnam Women's Union announced the Politburo's decision on personnel affairs. Le Thi Thuy stepped down from the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and her position as deputy secretary of the Government Party Committee; she was simultaneously appointed to the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Central Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations.
The Standing Committee of the Central Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations appointed Le Thi Thuy as secretary of the Central Party Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, nominating her for president. She assumes this role, replacing Nguyen Thi Tuyen, who has been transferred.

Le Thi Thuy is 62 years old, hailing from Nghe An. She holds a master's degree in law and a bachelor's degree in law, and is a member of the Party Central Committee for its 12th, 13th, and 14th terms.
Beginning her career in 1986 as a lecturer at the Nghe An School of Public Administration, she held various local positions: specialist, deputy chief inspector of the province, deputy secretary of the Hung Nguyen District Party Committee, deputy head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, chief inspector of the province, and head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee.
In late 2010, she was transferred to the central government, serving as deputy inspector general of the Government for six years, then as deputy head of the Central Inspection Committee. At the Government Inspectorate, she was responsible for resolving complaints and denunciations, conducting inspections in region 2, managing press and propaganda activities, promoting women's advancement within the inspection sector, and overseeing information technology, planning, and finance.
In mid-2019, the Politburo rotated her to serve as secretary of the Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee, a position she held for six years. During this period, the locality achieved high growth rates; in 2024, growth reached 10,93%, ranking second in the Red River Delta. Per capita income reached 109,8 million VND. Ha Nam was honored by the World Tourism Organization as a leading emerging tourist destination in Asia.
From 2/2025 until now, she has served as deputy secretary of the Government Party Committee. At the 14th National Party Congress in 1/2026, Le Thi Thuy was re-elected as a member of the Party Central Committee.
