Speaking at the meeting celebrating Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (21/6), National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated that despite difficulties, Vietnam achieved positive results in 2025 and the early months of 2026. The country maintained a high growth rate for two consecutive years. Currently, Vietnam's economy is valued at approximately USD 514 billion, with per capita income exceeding USD 5,000 per year.
According to Mr. Man, these achievements are largely due to the active contributions of press agencies. The press has vigorously promoted key policies and strategies of the Party and State, comprehensively covering issues such as the organizational restructuring of personnel and administrative units, and the determination to achieve growth targets.
"This is the largest organizational restructuring in history, and press agencies have supported it with news and articles," the National Assembly Chairman noted.

The press has also led efforts in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, refuting incorrect and hostile views, and enhancing the quantity and quality of official information. This fosters a healthy, humane, and responsible media environment. Many press agencies invest in digital technology, developing modern newsroom models and multi-skilled journalists to compete and thrive in the digital media landscape.
Looking ahead, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man urged press agencies to further promote messages from General Secretary and President To Lam regarding national development in the new era. These messages outline Vietnam's trajectory to become a high-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2045.
Additionally, the press should fully and promptly report on the activities of the National Assembly and the Government. It must convey the aspirations of voters and the public, contributing to improving the operational effectiveness of the National Assembly and the Government.
The National Assembly Chairman expressed his wish for journalists to remain soldiers on the ideological and cultural front, combating falsehoods and negativity while promoting truth and good deeds. He emphasized the importance of continuously enhancing the quality of staff, including political fortitude, sense of responsibility, professional expertise, and ethical conduct. He extended his appreciation to editors-in-chief, journalists, and editors who traveled across the three regions of the country during floods and storms, tirelessly providing information and promoting awareness, regardless of weather conditions.
National Assembly leaders also called on press agencies to accelerate digital transformation, apply artificial intelligence (AI), and build professional, humane, and modern press agencies, safeguarding information sovereignty in cyberspace.

In response, Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mobilization Commission, and President of the Vietnam Journalists' Association, thanked Party, National Assembly, and Government leaders for taking the time to meet and encourage the press community.
According to Mr. Minh, Vietnamese press will closely follow current events, deeply disseminate important national policies, and reflect the aspirations of the people. Press agencies will intensify research and application of technological advancements, digital transformation linked to building professional press agencies, innovating press economic models, and diversifying revenue sources to enhance financial autonomy.
