The Central Inspection Committee recently updated information on its deputy heads, which now includes Nghiem Xuan Thanh. Three days ago, at the 14th Central Committee's 2nd Conference, Nghiem Xuan Thanh was elected as a member of the 14th Central Inspection Committee for the 2026-2031 term.

Nghiem Xuan Thanh, from Yen Lac commune, Phu Tho province, holds a doctorate in economics, a master's in finance - currency - credit, and a bachelor's in accounting. He is a member of the 13th and 14th Party Central Committees.

With over 30 years in the banking sector, Thanh began his career at the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank), specifically its Vinh Phuc branch (now Phu Tho). He later held several positions, including Deputy Chief of Office, General Director's Secretary, Head of the Board of Directors' Secretariat, and Head of the Risk and Problematic Debt Management Department.

He served as Director of VietinBank's Thanh Xuan and Dong Da branches, then became Deputy General Director of VietinBank in early 2012. Six months later, he was assigned as Chief of Office for the State Bank of Vietnam before taking on the roles of General Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank).

In mid-2021, the Politburo rotated him to serve as Secretary of the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee (now Can Tho city), and subsequently as Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee. From 7/2025, following the merger of Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan, he was appointed Secretary of the newly formed Khanh Hoa province, a role he held for nearly one year.

At the 14th Party Congress, he was re-elected as a member of the Party Central Committee.

The Central Inspection Committee serves as the specialized inspection and supervision agency of the Party Central Executive Committee. Its functions include advising and assisting the Party Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat in organizing and implementing the Party's inspection, supervision, and disciplinary duties.

Tran Sy Thanh is the head of the Central Inspection Committee. The nine deputy heads include: Tran Tien Hung (standing), Nguyen Hong Linh, Ha Quoc Tri, Doan Anh Dung, Dinh Huu Thanh, Nguyen Minh Quang, Le Van Thanh, Nghiem Xuan Thanh, and Tran Thi Hien. The committee currently has 13 members.
