Passenger bus and truck collide, four injured

A passenger bus carrying dozens of people was severely damaged after colliding with a truck in Xuan Dai ward on National Highway 1, injuring four people on the evening of 30/7.

Around 19h30, Nguyen Thanh Tuan, 53, was driving a passenger bus with a Quang Ngai license plate, carrying passengers on National Highway 1 towards TP HCM. Near the Ganh Do residential area in Xuan Dai ward, the bus collided with a construction material truck that was crossing the road.

The strong impact crushed and deformed the front of the bus, shattering its windshield and windows. The truck overturned, landing more than 5 meters from its initial position.

Many passengers panicked and cried for help. Over 20 residents living near the scene brought tools and helped rescue most of the victims within five minutes.

According to Vo Ngoc Thach, Chairman of Xuan Dai Ward People's Committee, four people on the passenger bus were injured in the accident. Driver Tuan and one bus assistant sustained severe injuries and were trapped in the cabin, requiring rescue forces a significant amount of time to free them.

Another bus assistant suffered minor injuries, and the remaining victim was an unidentified female passenger.

The injured were transported to Song Cau Medical Center, located over 10 kilometers from the accident site.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
