The Team for Gathering Fallen Soldiers' Remains of Group 337 is continuing to expand its search area and verify information.
Huong Lap commune is located on the border with Laos, within the strategic corridor of the Truong Son Trail passing through western Quang Tri. The commune served as a stopover and transit point for troops, weapons, and food supplies moving from north to south. It was a site of battles, enemy raids, sabotage, and ambushes by Vietnamese forces to protect the route.
