After exhumation, the Fallen Soldiers' Remains Collection Team of Economic-Defense Group 337 brought the remains for preservation at the Khe Sanh commune spiritual-cultural area. The team will continue to expand the search area and complete procedures for identifying the fallen soldier.
This discovery follows two previous exhumations earlier this month. On 11/3, in Huong Lap commune, the Fallen Soldiers' Remains Collection Team, Economic-Defense Group 337, exhumed the remains of a fallen soldier near a cave entrance on Co Chuoi mountain, Cu Bai village. One day later, the team exhumed the remains of another fallen soldier inside a cave on Co Loong mountain, Se Pu village.
Huong Lap commune, located near the Laos border, was a strategic corridor for the Truong Son trail in western Quang Tri. During the war, it served as a stopover and transit point for troops, weapons, and food moving from the North to the South, and faced enemy attacks and sabotage operations.
