Around 5:15 p.m., a fire broke out on the 4th floor of house number 137 on Hermann street, Truong Vinh Ward. The blaze quickly spread within minutes, with thick black smoke engulfing the upper floors.
Upon hearing shouts, about six people on the 4th floor attempted to flee. However, dense smoke blocked all exits, preventing them from using the stairs or elevator.

Subsequently, several adults carried children and elderly individuals, climbing over balconies from the 5th-6th floors to an adjacent house before descending to safety.
Receiving the report, the Fire and Rescue Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Public Security dispatched one fire truck and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene to extinguish the flames.

By 5:50 p.m., firefighters controlled the blaze. Police safely rescued an 87-year-old paralyzed woman who was trapped inside the house. She suffered mild smoke inhalation and is currently receiving care at a medical facility.
The six-story house has its ground floor used for both living and business, while the 4th-6th floors are rented out by the owner. Authorities are currently investigating the cause and assessing the damage.
