At approximately 2 a.m. on 21/7, a sleeper bus traveling northbound - southbound on national highway 1A suddenly caught fire as it passed through Hung Thinh commune, located over 30 km from Bien Hoa. The driver promptly pulled the vehicle to the roadside and attempted to alert passengers to evacuate. However, the flames engulfed the bus too quickly, tragically trapping many inside.

Upon receiving the report, the Dong Nai Fire Prevention and Fighting (PCCC) force deployed two specialized vehicles to the scene. The fire was largely brought under control about 30 minutes later. Inside the bus, police discovered multiple victims' bodies.

The incident also resulted in three people being injured and hospitalized at Thong Nhat General Hospital. Following initial first aid, one lightly injured victim was discharged.
