Around 5 p.m. on 27/2, the Signature QN-7269 tourist boat caught fire near Hang Co in Ha Long Bay. The Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee reported that there were 30 passengers and 11 crew members on board.
Immediately after the incident, the captain and crew swiftly evacuated all tourists from the boat to safety, coordinating with local support forces. All passengers and crew were reported safe and in stable condition.
Nguyen Van Cong, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee and Standing Deputy Head of the Provincial Civil Defense Steering Committee, arrived at the scene to directly oversee response and recovery efforts.
This incident follows a similar event on 21/2, when the HP-5765 (SEA CORAL) tourist boat, owned by Sealife Group Company Limited and captained by Nguyen Van Tuong, also caught fire. That incident occurred in the waters near Gia Luan ferry terminal, in the Cat Ba special zone, Hai Phong. There were 32 people on board, including 17 crew members and staff, and 15 foreign passengers.
During the previous incident, the Cat Ba Border Post, in coordination with Center 114 – the Hai Phong and Quang Ninh Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police Department, deployed rescue and firefighting forces. They successfully brought everyone on board to shore safely.
