In a revised schedule, Ha Noi City police have shifted from temporary restrictions to outright bans and extended road closures for trucks with a payload of 10 tons or more.
Accordingly, these trucks are prohibited from operating on Thang Long Boulevard in both directions and on the service road from Pham Hung to provincial road 70, as well as the elevated Ring Road 3 in both directions from Thang Long Bridge to the intersection with National Highway 5A. Other vehicles face restrictions on these routes.
The ban and restrictions will be in effect from 9 PM on 20/1 until the end of 25/1.
Previously, in an announcement on 13/1, Ha Noi City police had only temporarily banned vehicles over 10 tons from traveling on the elevated Ring Road 3 section from Thang Long Bridge to the National Highway 5A intersection, from 6 AM to 9 PM daily between 19/1 and 25/1.

In addition to the above changes, according to the previous schedule, from 19/1 to 25/1, during specific hours—6 AM-8:30 AM, 10:30 AM-12 PM, 1 PM-2 PM, and 4 PM-7 PM—Ha Noi City police will temporarily prohibit common trucks, specialized trucks, and passenger vehicles with 16 seats or more from traveling on routes including: Pham Hung (from Me Tri to Tran Duy Hung), Thang Long Boulevard (the lane adjacent to the National Convention Center, from Pham Hung to the right service road of Thang Long Boulevard - Le Quang Dao), Tran Huu Duc, Le Duc Tho, Le Quang Dao, Do Duc Duc, Mieu Dam, Tran Duy Hung, and Khuat Duy Tien (from Le Van Luong to Pham Hung).
Furthermore, restrictions also apply to the following routes: Nguyen Chi Thanh, Lieu Giai (from Nguyen Chi Thanh to Phan Ke Binh), Dao Tan, Kim Ma, Van Phuc, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Tran Phu, Hung Vuong, Chu Van An, Hoang Dieu, Doc Lap, Le Hong Phong, Hoang Van Thu, Nguyen Tri Phuong, Dien Bien Phu, Le Duan (from Dien Bien Phu to Nguyen Du), Hang Long, Tran Binh Trong, Tran Hung Dao (from Quang Trung to Quan Su), Quan Su, and Trang Thi.
The aforementioned vehicle types are also restricted from moving onto Hoang Hoa Tham, Thanh Nien, Thuy Khue, Nghi Tam, Au Co, An Duong Vuong, Yen Phu, Tran Nhat Duat, Hai Ba Trung, Lang, Lang Ha, Le Van Luong, Khuat Duy Tien, Me Tri, and Thang Long Boulevard.
During these periods of temporary bans and restrictions, authorities will guide vehicles to alternative routes. Vehicles traveling from eastern provinces to western provinces should use the Ha Noi - Hai Phong expressway and National Highway 5, then turn right onto the access road to Thanh Tri Bridge - Phu Dong Bridge to the Ninh Hiep intersection, following the new National Highway 3, and vice versa.
Vehicles from southern provinces heading to eastern, western, and northern provinces should take the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway to the Do Muoi intersection, turn right onto Do Muoi road, then the elevated Ring Road 3 - Thanh Tri Bridge, and the Ha Noi - Hai Phong expressway access road to go east; or cross Phu Dong Bridge to the Ninh Hiep intersection via the new National Highway 3 to go west; or continue straight on the Ha Noi - Bac Giang expressway to go to northern provinces, and vice versa.
Vehicles from southern provinces traveling to northwestern provinces should use the Ho Chi Minh road - National Highway 21A and vice versa. For those from southern provinces heading west, options include the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway to Do Muoi - Ngoc Hoi, or from National Highway 1A turn onto Phan Trong Tue - Cau Buou - Van Khe - Le Trong Tan - Hoang Tung - Thang Long Boulevard service road - Tay Mo - Mieu Nha - Xuan Phuong - Cau Dien - Ho Tung Mau - Pham Van Dong - Thang Long Bridge - Vo Van Kiet - National Highway 2.
For vehicles from Phu Tho via National Highway 32, the Ha Noi - Hoa Binh expressway, or Lang Van Hoa road to central Ha Noi, authorities advise using the Cau Dien - Ho Tung Mau route or National Highway 21 - National Highway 6 - Quang Trung - Tran Phu - Nguyen Trai, and limiting travel on Thang Long Boulevard.
