Tran Sy Thanh re-elected as chairman of the Central Inspection Commission

Tran Sy Thanh, chairman of the 13th Central Inspection Commission, was re-elected by the Central Committee as chairman of the 14th Central Inspection Commission.

On the morning of 23/1, the first conference of the 14th Central Committee elected the 14th Central Inspection Commission with 23 members: Tran Sy Thanh, Nguyen Hong Linh, Tran Tien Hung, Dinh Huu Thanh, Ha Quoc Tri, Doan Anh Dung, Bui Minh Quang, Nguyen Manh Hung, Le Van Thanh, Dao The Hoang, Le Nguyen Nam Ninh, Dinh Van Tuong, Tran Quoc Binh, Trinh The Binh, Tran Van Phuc, Trieu Van Chien, Pham Thai Ha, Tran Viet Ha, Hoang Cong Huan, Ngo Dang Nhat, Nguyen Van Oanh, and Tran Thi Hien, Le My Hanh.

Tran Sy Thanh, 55, holds a master's degree in economics and a bachelor's degree in finance and accounting. A native of Nghe An, he has served as a member of the Central Committee for its 11th (alternate), 12th, 13th, and 14th terms, and as a National Assembly delegate for the 14th and 15th terms.

Tran Sy Thanh previously held positions as deputy head of the General Planning Department, deputy chief of office, chief of office, and deputy general director of the State Treasury (under the Ministry of Finance). Since 2008, he has served successively as vice chairman of Dak Lak province, member of the Central Inspection Commission, provincial party secretary of Bac Giang, deputy chairman of the Central Inspection Commission, and provincial party secretary of Lang Son.

In late 2017, he became deputy head of the Central Economic Commission, concurrently serving as party secretary and chairman of the Members' Council for the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group. Three years later, the Politburo appointed him deputy chairman of the National Assembly Office, a role he held for nearly one year before transitioning to State Auditor General.

In 7/2022, Tran Sy Thanh became chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee and was elected chairman of the 13th Central Inspection Commission in 11/2025.

The Central Inspection Commission is the specialized inspection and supervision body of the Central Committee. It carries out duties and powers as stipulated by the Party Charter, and advises and assists the Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat in directing, guiding, and organizing the implementation of the Party's inspection, supervision, and disciplinary tasks.
