Two buses collide in Ho Chi Minh City after reckless driving

Drivers of two buses, routes 62-10 and 62-8, were suspended after a collision caused by reckless driving on Kinh Duong Vuong Street.

On 13/7, a representative from the Public Transport Management Center, Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City, reported a collision between two buses five days prior. The incident occurred on Kinh Duong Vuong Street, near the An Lac roundabout (An Lac ward, former Binh Tan district), as the buses were traveling towards Tay Ninh (former Long An province).

Camera footage shows the 62-10 bus overtaking from behind and forcing the 62-8 bus onto the sidewalk, causing its windows to break. The two buses only stopped after pressing closely against each other. The drivers of both vehicles have been suspended by their respective management companies, Chau Thanh Transportation Cooperative and the Western Interprovincial Passenger Car Cooperative.

The Public Transport Management Center is analyzing GPS and camera data and coordinating with relevant parties to further investigate and address the incident. The center has also requested that the operating companies of both bus routes strengthen their supervision and address the conduct of their drivers and attendants.
