The leader of Khong Lao commune People's Committee stated that heavy rain over the past three days caused water levels in the Nam Lum stream to rise significantly. The strong current continuously eroded the foundation of a two-story house located on a branch of the Nam Lum stream in Giao Chao village.
Around 8:15 AM today, upon noticing the house tilting severely, six family members fled outside. Fifteen minutes later, the entire house collapsed into the stream.
