On the afternoon of 26/4, a wedding convoy turned from National Highway 1 onto a branch road towards Tri Binh hamlet, Binh Son commune, crossing the North-South railway line. Some vehicles in front managed to pass before the stop signal activated.
When it was the turn of a 7-seater oto, driven by a 36-year-old man, the red light was already on, and the barrier began to lower. Despite this, the driver continued, causing the car to become stuck between the railway tracks and the barrier.

The driver exited the car to find a solution, and many people from the convoy rushed to assist. After more than one minute, railway staff opened the opposite barrier to clear the way, allowing the car to escape. A minute later, a train passed through the crossing area.
Police fined the driver for two violations: crossing the railway when the red light was on and stopping a vehicle within the railway safety zone. The total fine was 5,9 million VND, along with a 2-month suspension of his driver's license. The individual stated he had borrowed the car to transport wedding guests and violated the rules because he was rushing to follow the vehicles in front.
A railway industry official stated that red lights at crossings typically activate about 10 seconds before the barriers lower, indicating that this driver had proceeded past the warning signal.
Two days prior, in Quang Ngai, a 40-year-old man from Son Tinh commune also drove a moto into a barrier, breaking it as a train approached. He fell near the tracks and was promptly moved away from the danger zone by staff.
