National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Wang Huning, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), today at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. During the meeting, Chairman Man urged both sides to continue high-level and multi-level exchanges, strengthen defense and security cooperation, and support each other's development and international standing, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Chairman Man called for stronger economic, trade, and investment cooperation, emphasizing enhanced connectivity. Key priorities include accelerating railway construction to link the two nations for international intermodal transport, further opening markets for Vietnamese agricultural products, achieving clearer progress in science and technology, and successfully implementing the Vietnam-China Tourism Cooperation Year. He also stressed the important role of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the CPPCC in solidifying public support, increasing exchanges between people's organizations, and promoting friendship in Vietnam-China relations.

Both leaders praised the recent advancements in Vietnam-China relations, noting strengthened political trust and deeper, more reliable exchanges between legislative bodies, Front organizations, and the CPPCC. Cooperation across various sectors has seen breakthroughs, and people-to-people exchanges remain vibrant. They also agreed to enhance multilateral coordination, supporting each other in successfully hosting APEC 2026 and 2027, and committed to better controlling and resolving disagreements, contributing to peace and stability in the sea and the broader region.
Mr. Wang Huning reaffirmed China's commitment to its relationship with Vietnam, stating that China is ready to follow the high-level consensus and the "six more" direction. He emphasized working with Vietnam to foster a continuously developing community of shared future with strategic significance.

The Chinese leader proposed enhancing the 3+3 strategic dialogue mechanisms (diplomacy - defense - public security) and the Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee. He called for accelerating high-quality development strategic connectivity, particularly railway projects linking the two nations. Additionally, he urged concrete progress in cooperation areas such as: trade, investment, smart checkpoints, cross-border economic cooperation zones, science and technology, artificial intelligence, digital economy, and green economy. China is ready to facilitate more imports of Vietnamese agricultural products and support Chinese enterprises increasing their investment in Vietnam.
