According to the july sales report from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers' Association (VAMA), total D-segment SUV sales reached 1,588 vehicles, an increase of two vehicles compared to june's 1,586 units. Increased deliveries of the Ford Everest and Mazda CX-8 offset declines from the Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe, maintaining the segment's stable size.
The Everest sold 849 vehicles in july, up 31 units from 818 in june, representing a 3.79% increase. This model continued to lead the segment. The CX-8 delivered 305 vehicles, an increase of 18 units from 287 the previous month, securing its second-place position in july sales.
The Sorento recorded the largest volume decrease, with 123 vehicles sold in july, down 44 units (26.35%) from 167 in june. The Santa Fe sold 115 vehicles, a decrease of 10 units from 125 in june, an 8% reduction. Toyota's Fortuner sold 178 vehicles, three units fewer than the 181 sold the previous month, placing it third for the month.
At the bottom of the sales ranking, the Isuzu mu-X sold only 18 vehicles in july, an increase of 10 units from eight in june.
Cumulative market share highlights the significant disparity between the segment leader and its competitors. The Everest holds the top one position with 6,950 vehicles, accounting for 58.09% of total segment sales since early 2026. The CX-8 ranked second with 2,086 vehicles (17.43% market share). The Santa Fe maintained its third position in cumulative sales with 1,179 vehicles (9.85% market share), ahead of the Fortuner with 964 vehicles (8.06% market share). The Sorento and mu-X achieved 686 vehicles (5.73% market share) and 100 vehicles (0.84% market share), respectively.
The balanced sales performance in july compared to june indicates that purchasing power in the D-segment SUV market remains stable. The Ford Everest's substantial cumulative lead suggests its segment-leading position is unlikely to change in the upcoming months of 2026.
