In 4/2026, Mercedes launched the all-electric C-class Electric, which shared few commonalities with its internal combustion engine counterpart. Now, the updated C-class features a front fascia that closely resembles the C-class Electric, with an illuminated logo and grille surround, alongside small chrome stars scattered across the grille.
Digital Light headlights now offer an optional micro-LED technology, providing a wider light field and higher resolution while consuming 50% less energy than before. The design of the headlights and taillights incorporates distinctive star-shaped motifs, and new wheel options are also available.

The German automaker heavily emphasizes software with the new MB.OS operating system. This system allows Mercedes to deliver remote updates for more systems and introduces a new user interface with additional features. Additionally, MB.OS integrates artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing, and Google Gemini.
According to Mercedes, the MBUX virtual assistant can handle multi-turn conversations, remember context during interactions, answer general questions, search for locations, and play music even if the driver only recalls half a lyric or provides a vague description of a song.
The cockpit remains largely unchanged. The car still features a 12,3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 11,9-inch vertical central display, optional augmented reality display technology inherited from the S-class and EQS, and a Google-based navigation system.
The 15-speaker Burmester 3D sound system is upgraded with Dolby Atmos surround sound technology. Ambient interior lighting now extends further across the dashboard and door panels.

Under the hood, a 2-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine pairs with a 48 V mild hybrid system. The gasoline engine produces 255 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. A new auxiliary electric turbocharger improves low-RPM response, while the integrated starter-generator can produce 23 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque.
Mercedes states that the overboost feature can add 27 horsepower for approximately 20 seconds per activation. Additionally, the hardware is refined to deliver quicker low-RPM response and smoother acceleration.
The C-class 2027 features a refined suspension system, additional sound-deadening materials, and a drag coefficient as low as 0,24. Furthermore, the car is equipped with 8 cameras, 5 radar sensors, and 12 ultrasonic sensors to support the latest driving and parking features of the MB.DRIVE system.
The company also includes standard features in the MB.DRIVE system, such as parking assist 360, which comprises a 360-degree camera and an improved surround-view monitor. A new automatic reverse parking feature can automatically guide the car back along a portion of its recently traveled path. This feature is useful in narrow entrances, dead ends, or poorly designed parking lots where the vehicle unexpectedly runs out of room.
Mercedes announced the 255-horsepower engine for the US market only, but Europe will receive a more diverse product range. The lineup includes 4-cylinder gasoline and diesel engine variants, the C-class Estate wagon, and the C400e 4MATIC PHEV. Mercedes states that the C400e has a 19,53 kWh battery, an all-electric range of up to 100 km according to WLTP standards, and a maximum charging capability of 11 kW with AC charging or 55 kW with DC fast charging.
European customers also have the option of a four-wheel steering system, which allows the rear wheels to turn up to 2,5 degrees. This reduces the turning radius by 43 cm, bringing it down to just 10,64 m, while improving stability at high speeds. The company has not yet disclosed whether these features and powertrains will be available in the US market.
For customers preferring a more aggressive look, the AMG Line Plus package is available as an option for the first time. This package includes the Night Package, a gloss black spoiler and exhaust tips, and sport seats with contrasting stitching and red seatbelts. The exterior adds two new colors: Miami metallic silver and Moody Sky metallic gray-blue. Mercedes has not yet announced pricing for the US market. The car is expected to arrive at dealerships in the first half of 2027.
