Skoda has unveiled the facelifted version of its Slavia sedan in the Indian market. The B-segment sedan from the Czech automaker boasts a refined design, enhanced convenience features, and notably, integrated artificial intelligence (AI) technology into its infotainment system.

The Slavia is a strategic model for Skoda in India. Nearly 5 years after its initial launch, the 2027 version receives several enhancements to maintain its competitive edge in the B-segment sedan segment.

For its exterior, the Slavia 2027 adopts the brand's new design language. The front end stands out with a redesigned grille and sharper headlights. A refined front bumper contributes to a sportier appearance, complemented by unique air vent patterns. The vehicle also features new fog lights and a wider decorative chrome strip at the bottom.

The body retains its basic lines but is fitted with newly designed alloy wheels. The led taillight cluster has been completely refreshed, featuring sequential turn signal effects. A decorative strip with Skoda lettering is integrated between the two taillights, adding a modern touch.

Inside, changes focus on enhancing the user experience. Skoda offers new interior color scheme options and adds a massage function for the rear seats.

A technological highlight of the Slavia 2027 is its new 10,1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This system integrates the ai companion virtual assistant, developed on the Google Cloud platform. Skoda states that this virtual assistant can recognize "Indian English accents", allowing drivers to control functions hands-free, such as playing music, making calls, and adjusting the air conditioning system.

Additionally, drivers benefit from a larger 10,25-inch digital instrument cluster, an upgrade from the previous 8-inch version.

The Slavia 2027 continues to utilize the MQB-A0-IN chassis platform, developed specifically for the Indian market, along with its familiar tsi engine options.

The 1.0 tsi engine produces 113 horsepower and 178 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual or a new 8-speed automatic, replacing the previous 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The 1.5 tsi engine delivers 148 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dsg dual-clutch transmission. Notably, versions equipped with the 1.5 engine now feature rear disc brakes instead of the previous drum brakes, enhancing braking performance.

While India remains the primary market for the Slavia, Skoda also exports this model to other markets in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. The 2027 facelift is anticipated to reach these markets in the near future.

According to the plan, Skoda will announce the pricing for the Slavia 2027 by late 2026, coinciding with its official launch.
