Italian supercar manufacturer Ferrari has unveiled the 12Cilindri Manuale to the world. This special edition supercar offers a manual gearbox option, marking its return to a production model after more than a decade. A key feature of this manual transmission is its operation via a new electronic control system named "Manuale By-Wire".

Unlike previous generations of manual gearboxes, the new system in the 12Cilindri Manuale lacks a physical connection between the gear lever, clutch pedal, and transmission. Instead, driver inputs are converted into electronic signals and transmitted to the gearbox control unit. This compact unit weighs only 5 kg and is constructed from steel and aluminum for durability.
Ferrari fine-tuned the system to replicate the authentic feel of a traditional manual gearbox. Drivers may experience rough starts or even stall the engine with incorrect operation, similar to Koenigsegg's Engage Shift system. The system also prevents incorrect gear selection or excessive downshifting.
The "Manuale By-Wire" system integrates with the standard 8-speed dual-clutch transmission of the Ferrari 12Cilindri. As the gated shifter is limited to 6 gears, the system automatically switches to an automatic mode for the 7th and 8th gears, and when launch control is engaged. The manual mode functions only at speeds below 97 km/h.
Technically, the car retains its naturally aspirated 6,5-liter V12 engine, producing 819 horsepower and 678 Nm of peak torque. The engine can reach a maximum of 9.500 rpm, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2,9 seconds, 0-200 km/h in approximately 7,9 seconds, and achieve a top speed of 340 km/h.
In terms of design, the 12Cilindri Manuale meets the expectations of speed enthusiasts by reintroducing the three-pedal setup and the distinctive gated shifter. The last time Ferrari offered a manual transmission in a production supercar was with the 599 GTB, which ceased production in 2012.

The 12Cilindri Manuale's interior is redesigned to focus on the driving experience, featuring an ergonomically arranged center console optimized for gear changes, including a classic aluminum shifter and a polished gated shift pattern. This special edition supercar is further distinguished by exclusive Tailor Made details: laser-etched side badges, decorative stripes inspired by the 365 GTB4 Daytona, unique exterior colors, and distinct wheel options. Specialized interior materials like leather and Alcantara are also available.
Ferrari will produce only 1.499 units of the 12Cilindri Manuale, all customized through the Tailor Made program. In Europe, the 12Cilindri Manuale is priced at 675.000 USD, which is 228.000 USD more than the standard 12Cilindri. Deliveries are expected to commence in early 2027. Ferrari has confirmed that all 12Cilindri Manuale units have already been claimed.
