The Ministry of Education and Training issued the decision on 26/5. Prior to this, HUTECH already offered programs in pharmacy, nursing, and medical laboratory technology.
HUTECH's medical program spans six years and requires 210 credits. For this year's admissions, the university will employ several methods: direct admission and priority consideration as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training; evaluation of high school graduation exam scores; academic transcript review; VACT or V-SAT competency assessment scores; and consideration of international certificates such as SAT, ACT, A-Level, and IB.
The six subject combinations for medical program admissions include: B00 (mathematics, chemistry, biology); D07 (mathematics, chemistry, English); C02 (mathematics, chemistry, literature); A00 (mathematics, chemistry, physics); B08 (mathematics, biology, English); and B03 (mathematics, biology, literature).
Specific enrollment targets and tuition fees will be announced by the university at a later date.
Doctor Nguyen Quoc Anh, Vice President of HUTECH, stated that the university has invested in specialized facilities for its medical and health science programs. These include: digital anatomy tables, model-based practice rooms, a pre-clinical skills practice area, a simulated emergency practice zone, and obstetrics and gynecology practice facilities.
The permanent faculty comprises doctors with high academic ranks and degrees, possessing extensive experience in management, teaching, research, and clinical practice at hospitals. Students will have opportunities for learning and practical training at major hospitals in TP HCM, including: Cho Ray, Military Hospital 175, Nhan Dan Gia Dinh, and Nguyen Tri Phuong.
HUTECH provides a 30% scholarship on total tuition fees for students in the medical and health science programs. Tuition fees will remain constant throughout the entire program.
Across the country, there are currently about 34 universities offering medical training. Approximately 18 of these are public institutions, with the remainder being private. For the 2026-2027 academic year, projected medical program tuition fees at these universities range from 48 to 150 million dong.
