PhDs can receive up to 150 million VND for joining the university of economics and law

The University of Economics and Law is recruiting 34 lecturers, offering up to 150 million VND in support for PhDs committed for five years.

The University of Economics and Law (UEL), a member of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), announced this recruitment drive mid-november. UEL is currently seeking lecturers for its economics, business, management, and law programs. The recruitment period extends until the end of december 2025.

Successful candidates who commit to a minimum five-year tenure will receive one-time support payments based on their academic rank. The university offers 350 million VND for professors, 250 million VND for associate professors, and 150 million VND for staff holding a doctorate. This financial support is separate from regular salaries, allowances, and other income, designed to encourage highly qualified individuals to commit long-term and contribute to the university's teaching and research activities.

According to UEL, current monthly salaries for its lecturers vary by position: master's degree holders earn 18-32 million VND, doctors 28-45 million VND, associate professors 53-65 million VND, and professors 65-75 million VND. Beyond basic salaries, staff also receive additional income based on work performance, including: remuneration for scientific research, English language instruction, exam supervision and grading, committee work, holiday bonuses, unit-level and university-level key performance indicator (KPI) bonuses, and other welfare benefits.

UEL also implements financial and non-financial support policies to encourage lecturers to advance their qualifications. Staff completing a doctoral program receive a 150 million VND bonus for early graduation, 100 million VND for on-time graduation, and 70 million VND for late graduation. While pursuing their doctorate, lecturers benefit from a 50% reduction in their standard teaching load or two months of fully paid leave.

In addition to establishing career development paths and assisting staff in meeting the standards for professor and associate professor titles, the university provides bonuses for new appointments: 250 million VND for professors and 150 million VND for associate professors.

By 2035, UEL aims to become a research-oriented university in the digital age, achieving international standards and ranking among leading reputable educational institutions. The university prioritizes fostering a dynamic academic environment with numerous policies to encourage scientific research. Lecturers publishing articles in SSCI/SCIE Q1 journals receive bonuses up to 160 million VND, while those in SSCI/SCIE Q2 journals are awarded 120 million VND.

Young staff members (under 35 years old) may be allocated housing at Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City's (VNU-HCM) public housing, with priority based on seniority and family circumstances. The university also provides transportation for staff along a fixed route from the International Square area (formerly District 3) to the university and back.

The University of Economics and Law is a member of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM). It was established in 2010, evolving from the Faculty of Economics, which began in 2000. Over 25 years of development, UEL has educated over 40,000 bachelors, masters, and doctors, establishing itself as a reputable training and research institution in economics, business, management, and law.
