Psychology Master Hoang Quoc Lan of Phuong Dong General Hospital stated the patient was admitted in an exhausted state due to many sleepless nights, experiencing hallucinations, and constantly scratching her body. Previously, the shock from her 9-year relationship partner's betrayal caused the woman to lose emotional control.
Upon noticing fatigue, nausea, and a positive pregnancy test result, the patient's psychological state completely collapsed. Her family immediately took her to the hospital after observing persistent unusual symptoms.
After extensive tests, doctors diagnosed the patient with depression. Currently, Master Lan is implementing a treatment regimen combining medication specifically for pregnant women and psychotherapy to stabilize the health of both mother and baby.

Depression resulting from the shock of infidelity is an emotional disorder that arises when the brain and psyche collapse under the weight of betrayal. This pain erodes trust, causing prolonged sadness, low self-esteem, and a sense of disorientation in the sufferer. Typical symptoms include frequent crying, feelings of emptiness, hopelessness, and even experiencing hallucinations or hearing strange voices.
Physically, patients often experience sleep disturbances, loss of appetite, weight loss, rapid heartbeat, and fatigue. Many choose to self-isolate, withdraw from social interaction, or self-harm, leading to a significant decline in work performance.
Psychological research indicates that being deceived by a spouse or partner is a devastating experience, often leading to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Betrayal undermines a victim's sense of safety and self-worth. Instead of blaming themselves for "not being good enough", those affected need to accept feelings of pain and anger, and avoid suppressing their emotions.
Master Lan recommends that individuals in this situation seek out trusted family or friends to share their feelings, rather than self-isolating. Each person needs to take a few days or weeks to calm down before making decisions about the relationship.
Practicing self-care through a healthy diet, limiting social media, exercising, or joining support groups will help balance one's psychological state. If signs of instability persist, individuals should seek professional psychological help early to receive expert support and prevent regrettable health consequences.
