The Ho Chi Minh City Hospital of Dermatology, in collaboration with EUPC Group, recently organized a scientific workshop titled "Optimizing chemical skin regeneration in melasma treatment and Plasma Complex in aesthetic medicine practice". The event attracted over 500 dermatologists and experts, participating both in person and online.

During the initial part of the program, Master of Science, Resident Doctor Phan Ngoc Huy from the Department of Aesthetic Dermatology, Ho Chi Minh City Hospital of Dermatology, presented on the strategy for selecting appropriate active ingredients for skin regeneration in melasma patients. His presentation emphasized individualized treatment protocols based on skin condition, pigmentation levels, skin type, and irritation risk, rather than a universal approach.
Experts highlighted that melasma is a complex and recurrent skin condition influenced by various factors, including hormonal changes, sun exposure, dermatitis, a compromised skin barrier, or improper skincare. Therefore, active ingredients for skin regeneration must be chosen on a case-by-case basis, ensuring sufficient efficacy without exceeding the skin's tolerance.
Doctor of Medicine, Level II Specialist Tran Ngoc Phuong, Head of the Scar Treatment Professional Group at the Department of Aesthetic Dermatology, Ho Chi Minh City Hospital of Dermatology, discussed standardizing chemical skin regeneration procedures. She stated that controlling the process from indications, skin preparation, technical execution, to post-procedure care is crucial for enhancing melasma treatment effectiveness and minimizing complications.
Beyond presentations, the workshop included a technical demonstration of chemical skin regeneration. This allowed participating doctors and experts to update their practical steps, key considerations during execution, and post-procedure monitoring.

A notable session focused on "The application of Plasma Complex in aesthetic medicine," presented by Doctor of Science, Doctor of Medicine Robert Kasperek. Dr. Kasperek operates Dr. R Kasperek Aesthetic and Regenerative Medicine Clinic and lectures at the Krakow School of Health Care, Poland.
According to Dr. Kasperek, modern aesthetic trends increasingly favor safe, minimally invasive solutions that harness the body's natural healing mechanisms. In this context, Plasma Complex was introduced as an approach to support recovery, regeneration, and improve overall skin quality in aesthetic medicine practice.
Plasma Complex utilizes various forms of platelet-rich fibrin, or PRF, extracted from the patient's own blood. Liquid PRF forms, such as I-PRF and S-PRF, can support temporary scaffolding and stimulate biological tissue regeneration. Gel or solid A-PRF is applied to aid in soft tissue and bone regeneration.
The technology's distinction lies in its flexible combination of multiple PRF forms within a single treatment, promoting a more natural recovery process. By using autologous material, this method aims for high biocompatibility and supports the sustained release of growth factors over time.
